Department Non-Press Operator
Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Non-Press Operator to join our Narrow Web Flexographic Production Department. In this role, you will work closely with our team of press operators and other production personnel to ensure the smooth operation of our flexographic printing process. The Non-Press Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks that support the printing process, ensuring high-quality output, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the setup, preparation, and cleanup of the printing equipment, including plate mounting, ink mixing, and material handling.
Operate auxiliary equipment, such as slitters, rewinders, laminators, and die cutters, according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
Monitor and maintain supplies of raw materials, inks, and other consumables, ensuring adequate stock levels for uninterrupted production.
Conduct quality checks during production runs to ensure adherence to specifications, including color accuracy, print registration, and print quality.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts, to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and make adjustments as necessary to maintain productivity and minimize waste.
Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment and prevent accidents or injuries.
Collaborate with press operators and other team members to coordinate job changes, prioritize tasks, and meet production targets.
Maintain accurate production records, including job logs, material usage, and downtime, to support performance analysis and reporting.
Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement, and provide suggestions to the production supervisor or management.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working in a narrow web flexographic production environment is highly preferred.
Knowledge of flexographic printing processes, materials, and equipment is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision and accuracy.
Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and make decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Effective communication skills to interact with team members and provide clear instructions.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
